    Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  The faculty and staff at Henderson Independent High School (HIHS) are excited to once more host grades 6th through 12th. Henderson provides a highly structured learning environment with various services and supports to help students choose and reach their academic, behavioral, and attendance goals.

    Every student that comes to Henderson will go through a comprehensive intake process. It is the student's and parents' responsibility to read the Handbook regarding expectations and procedures at HIHS. Students will be empowered to pursue goals in attendance, academics, and behavior. Our team will review the student's progress and provide consistent feedback to the student’s base school. HIHS will also ensure that both students and parents/guardians are given a clear understanding of the policies and procedures in place at our school before each student’s first official school day. Henderson's academic and intervention classes focus on personalized instruction in core subjects and specific electives.

    Parents, we need you to remind our students that being assigned to Henderson is not a punishment but an OPPORTUNITY to discover a pathway to success.
