Southeast Middle School, the home of the Patriots, is located in the southeast region of Rowan County. The school opened in October 2000, making it the newest middle school in Rowan County. It currently houses over 650 students in grades six through eight. Southeast is unique in that our sixth-grade students come from eleven elementary schools, and we send rising freshmen to at least four of the area's high schools. Southeast Middle celebrates diversity, and our student body includes students from all over the world.
Southeast Middle School has been identified as a Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) school by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Specifically, the school has been designated as a TSI-Additional Targeted Support (TSI-AT) school and has one or more subgroup(s) where the subgroup performance grade score is below the highest CSI school’s ALL STUDENT group during the identification year.
