Overview
The Academy of the Arts is designed for students to find and develop their voices as artists. Offering pathways in fine and performing arts including dance, instrumental music, theatre, vocal music and visual arts, the passion to create is the common thread that ties our academy together.

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Arts Academy at Jesse C. Carson High School to educate and prepare students for the twenty-first century through stringent academic requirements, a concentration of fine or performing arts as a discipline, and service learning through the arts in preparation for post-secondary education.

How can I apply?
Current Rowan-Salisbury School students may apply as an incoming freshman to Jesse Carson High School Arts Academy. Students new to the district may apply upon registration.
For more information about applying to the Arts Academy, students may meet with a guidance counselor to determine if the academy aligns with individual goals for high school and beyond.

All RSS Academies
High School Academies offer specialized curricula and courses and are aligned to specific career pathways.
Rising ninth grade students who are unable to obtain academies or concentrations in their regularly assigned school, may apply to another school within RSS in order to enroll in a program of study or academy not offered at their school. Transfers into high school academies for rising ninth graders will be granted on a space available basis, with students in the academy host school given first opportunity for enrollment in the academy.
