  • OVERVIEW OF TITLE I

    ROWAN-SALISBURY SCHOOLS

    Title I is the largest FEDERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM, founded in 1965 as the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA), reauthorized as part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), and amended as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Rowan-Salisbury Schools has sixteen schoolwide Title I Elementary Schools, two schoolwide Title I Middle Schools, and Henderson Independent receive Title I funding.

     

    Schoolwide Programs allow the most flexibility in the use of Title I funds. At least 40% poverty (based on free and reduced lunch) and each school must address the components of a schoolwide program through a schoolwide plan.
